Finally a notebook for photographer : Lenovo ThinkPad W700

New Thinkpad W700 Full Specifications

The new Lenovo ThinkPad W700 Extreme Specifications

I am looking forward to the upcoming Lenovo ThinkPad W700 notebook introduced especially for digital photographers, graphics designers and CAD/CAM specialists.

Among the most notable features are:

  1. 17-inch display with a resolution of 1920×1200 (WUXGA), that is extremely bright (400-nit) and is capable of showing 72% of the Adobe RGB color gamut.
  2. 4.7-inch-by-3.2-inch digitizer that is essentially a mini-Wacom tablet that sits next to the laptop’s touch pad. The digitizer pad can be mapped to the entire screen or to a defined area so you can manipulate images by hand.
  3. X-rite Pantone color sensor that’s capable of color-calibrating the display when the lid is closed, eliminating the need to carry a separate calibration device. The calibrator automatically adjusts the display’s color up to four times a month to help provide the most accurate, true-to-life images.

Hardware wise it supports the latest top-of-the-line features available in the notebook market:

  1. up to 8 GB DDR3 – SDRAM
  2. up to 960 (320 x 3) GB HDD with support of RAID 0 & 1 configuration
  3. NVIDIA Quadro M3700 GPU with 1GB of VRAM
  4. support Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad Core processor
  5. Blu-ray™ DVD burner/player
  6. Connectivity support: WLAN 802.11n or WWAN 2 or WiMax
