Autumn in KL @ MIFW 2011

Models showcasing design from Ammara Hijabi - YODA

Malaysia International Fashion Week 2011 is here again – with no less than 7 days of exclusive fashion events!

The Malaysia fashion industry is all geared up for the much anticipated annual Malaysia International Fashion Week (MIFW). For this 9th edition the Malaysian International Fashion Alliance (mifa) is inaugurating an exclusive lifestyle venue in Kuala Lumpur – Zebra Square. Seven days in a row, from 21 to 27 November, models will bring life to the latest collection of Malaysian and international designers.

I am quite excited to attend MIFW again this year after missing out for 2010 as I was away for a trip to Silk Road. Yesterday I attended the “Autumn in KL” and “Autumn in KL Gala” and I have to say the young designers out there are really giving the established ones a run for their money. Some of their designs are truly creative and inspirational. Some, even to the point of radical but I have to salute them for their bravery and steadfastness in believing and realizing their vision.

Since I really have not time to go through the thousands of photographs that I took last night, I just pick one collection that stood out yesterday during the Autumn in KL presentation. I will be featuring more collection as the days go by and if I have the time to go through all the photos soon after the fashion shows.

The designer: Ammara Hijabi (I am not sure which one) - Please update me via email or comments if I am featuring the wrong person. There were so many designers presenting their showcases yesterday. I might have mixed up their names!
