KLFW RTW 2014 Featuring Farah Khan

Farah-Khan-20

KLFW RTW 2014 featuring the latest collection from Farah Khan

21st June 2014

Farah Khan Fashion Show is always attended by the well-heeled and well-dressed crowds, anywhere around the world. So it is only natural to see the who’s who on the list of their invited guests last night. Unfortunately she couldn’t make it to her own fashion show last night. However she never disappoints with her latest collection. I always like how she starts off her show with environmental or personal messages on the tees of her models. Then the show starts proper…… and the crowds were blown away by her super fast-paced fashion catwalks that are not only beautiful but are distinctively Farah Khan! Kudos to another job well done.

In 2010 Joe Chia graduated from Raffles Design Institute, and with the vision of seeing his designs being worn by people on the streets, his eponymous label – JOE CHIA RTW was launched in 2012. JOE CHIA embodies classic, timeless and experimental pieces to be worn for years. Therefore, instead of following trends and the seasons, collections are launched in a sequence of chapters whereby each piece in every chapter narrates its individual story.

The label’s clothing language is the celebration of the designer’s innate Malaysian heritage. The label has increased a distinctive attention for details and functional qualities, whilst maintaining a strong connection to urban roots. “The Silent Drama,” described Joe.

Super GT Queen 2012: Round 2 Audition @ Pavilion KL

Malaysia very own Motorshow Bombshell, Leng Yein posing with fellow judges, Levin Seow.

It won’t be called a Car Show or Motor Racing event if there are no beautiful women or sexy race queen to be seen. It’s even more pronounced if the racing event is imported from Japan, the land of raising sun famous for manga, anime, cosplay – gothic or otherwise, sexy maid cafes and everything cute, weird, sultry and out of this world!

But hey, if you are in dream land now, snap out of it! This is Malaysia. You ain’t going to see any sexy or “poke eye” clothing on any of these beauties here. But at least you can always imagine the sexy Leng Yein posing on top of her pink Hummer….. yummy!

Enchanted Christmas in Kuala Lumpur as viewed via a circular fisheye lens

1 Utama Christmas Theme for 2011: Splashing over the big blue

‘Tis the season to go shopping! What better way to go shopping than to visit out local shopping malls and be thrilled and entertained by the many decorations and fun activities put up by the management of these malls. I have always been curious by the theme selected by these malls, especially during the Christmas season. As usual, they have never failed to impress me year after year, with their creativity, intelligence and budget.

This year, the 2 shopping malls that impressed me the most are 1 Utama and Pavilion KL. Countless hours have been put into their planning and execution that one can spent hours just to admire their themed decorations and to snap some pictures with your kids.

As for me, this year at least, I am attempting to document all these beautiful decorations with my circular fisheye lens. Technically, a circular fisheye lens could capture 180˚ view of a scene with a very decent depth of field. In most cases, I stepped up the f-stop to get an acceptable DOF.

Mega Style at Pavilion KL Mega Sale

Esther T showcasing an intricate and meticulously designed party dress from SALABIANCA during the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur Mega Sale Fashion Show.

It’s sale time in Malaysia. Everything and anything movable are on sale in Kuala Lumpur. If you are a tourist to this country, you are in for a treat when every mall in the country will be competing for your tourist dollars (RM, £, ¥, etc…).

In conjunction with the country-wide sale, Pavilion as one of the leading shopping destination in the country once again is showcasing a series of fashion shows to attract and convince the fashionable tourists and local bargain hunters to shop and spend their hard-earned money in their mall!

For local weekend photographers, it’s a treat too for us too as we get to admire the bevy of beauties strutting down the runways with the latest designs from Salabianca & Philosophy, TANGS, Van Laack and Celio/Morgan de Toi/Mugler. Pardon my fashion sense – I am no fashion guru, so what I wrote are based on my taste and my liking. Don’t sue me if you think they are junk. 🙂

Lotus F1 Racing car unveiled in Kuala Lumpur

The actual Lotus F1 racing machine was unveiled yesterday at the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur's main concourse area yesterday.

Kuala Lumpur, 30 March 2010. Kicking off the F1 season in Sepang Malaysia, Lotus Racing held a homecoming celebration at the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur where all three drivers – Jarno Trulli, Heikki Kovalainen and Fairuz Fauzy – unveiled the stunning green-and-yellow Lotus Cosworth T127 for the first time to their adoring Malaysian fans. I find the team colors a little bit garish for a race car. That’s just me. But who am I to complain if they can do the job they were designed to do – to win races! So far they have been doing quite a good job. The recent 13th placing by Heikki Kovalainen at the just concluded Melbourne Grand Prix augured well for this brand-new outfit. Hopefully the team could bring more racing honor to the country and market the Malaysian brand far and wide.

White Christmas in Kuala Lumpur

Christmas decorations that are eye catching and beautiful are plentiful but Christmas decorations that are eye catching and beautiful yet made out of recyclable materials.... now that is insightful, creative and certainly very GREEN!

This is the time of the year, when all the shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur will spend all their year-end budget to spruce up their premises with the MOST innovative, the MOST extravagant and the MOST creative Christmas decoration one has ever seen. This is also the time when superlatives are barely enough to describe the tallest, the biggest and the baddest in Shopping Mall’s decorations. It’s good that the malls are fighting for the attention and eye balls of the consumers – we the consumers are spoil for choices and we can take our money to where we can enjoy the biggest bang. Indirectly the malls are spending and putting money back into the economy and we the consumers are also enticed to spend, hopefully in aid of the stalling world economy. Below are a few photos to showcase how Malaysians celebrate their “White Christmas” at the malls.
